Sadness Is Not Weakness

Some days are good. Some days are rough. Some days I just want to cease to exist, a medically induced coma seems like the solution until this passes – but it’s not an option, you just have to get through it. It’s not easy, not even close. But you get through it, mostly because you don’t actually have a choice. I know, I know – I could just try to be positive about it, but some days that simply just isn’t possible. Why do we feel like we have to be happy all of the time? Isn’t sadness part of life too? 10,000 sorrows, 10,000 joys.

It would be absolutely silly to pretend that we have to be happy and strong all the time. Being sick hurts, mentally and physically. That’s not to say that there isn’t any good in life, but rather simply accepting that bad days are a part of life.

Admission of sadness is not an act of weakness, but rather one of strength.
